Italian term or phrase: "volta dell'autoclave"
From a report about cleaning autoclaves:
Is this a vault?? A roof? Are the autoclaves in a vault or is a "volta" part of the autoclave itself? Or does "volta" mean time here??

top of the autoclave
Explanation:
In washing out the autoclave, it is filled with water but the water doesn't reach all the way to the top. It is in this empty space that the evaporating gases tather

That makes sense. Elsewhere I have references to the "cupola" of the autoclave, so I guess the "volta" is referring to the same part. Many thanks
