national insurance credit Explanation: Kudoz is totally wrong! These types of credits are paid neither by the employer nor the employee and are intended to cover contributory gaps due to illness, reduced pay, etc. In the UK they are simply known as "National Insurance Credits", and in other English speaking European countries such as Malta, they are also known simply as "credits" or "government credits" (https://gemma.gov.mt/retirement-income/filling-in-gaps-in-so... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 hrs (2019-10-23 12:35:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- That should have been plural: "national insurance credits"!
