activities Explanation: While you can often translate this term with operations or business, you can equally well often translate it with "activities" which is commonly found in financial reports. Here, I think activities is more appropriate. The word business is associated with cash flowing into a concern and sales whcih is hardly the case of a safety officer. Also operations is associated with parts of a company, which could be split off and sold as in discontinued operations. Here, however we have the management of people working on a construction site and "activities" would seem to be the most appropriate term.
