This is from a maintenance manual from what looks like a military tow-truck.

The best context is some photos which show this "barra para-ciclista", it is a sort of a plate on the side of the vehicle which seems to separate the front two wheels, and it almost seems to be there to stop the spare wheel coming down (this is angled at 90° to the drive direction and sticks out the side of the vehicle when it is lowered). I just can't see what "ciclista" has to do with things.

Has anyone come across this term before? I certainly haven't and I can't find anything on the web ...

This is the technical term. I'm pretty sure as I had this a few days ago in a translation of some Truck specs
