Asker: Thanks Barbara! I wasn't able to find anything with this name/or similar name on a variety of coupling/hose/tank truck sites. But with your input, I thought "latterally" and came up with "ball-and-socket couplings". They appear to be used in similar applications (where dirt could compromise the connection). It appears to be similar to an "a cipolla" coupling. Does this ring a bell?
