Architecture / exterior of a basilica
Italian term or phrase: a largo dado
This is from a description of the exterior of a Basilica di Santa Maria di Salute in Venice. This term does not appear anywhere else in the text.

I do realize that dado is also an architectural term in English but I am having trouble incorporating into the sentence.

somtimes known as pulvinated or bulging capital but I think "pulvin" is not so widely used in English.
