disagree  awilliams: "refunctionalised" is rarely used in EN and only for really specific cases. I reckon something lighter would work here. I don't see how you would fit either of these suggestions into the sentence?

disagree  awilliams: to me, "la rifunzionalizzazione dell’edificio" is a process, not a state - I guess you could restore it to a particular state, but I think drawing on "functionalism" is way too specific and not what it means, which is simply getting it "working" again
