Fémek ultraprecíziós megmunálásának vizsgálatához használt berendezés. Sajnos magyarul sem értem egészen, valószínűleg valamilyen számítógépes eszköz, ami a mért felületi adatokból (pl. kristály topográfia, vagy durvaság) képes megalotni a virtuális felületet. De nem tudom, van-eegyáltalánilyen, és hogyan fogjak hozzá a megkereséshez (akár a magyarnak)

A "felületi képalkotás" megfelelője "surface imaging" (és az imaging sok más összefüggésben is képalkotásnak fordítható, pl. ultrasonic imaging = ultrahangos képalkotás). A "device"-ban a mérés hallgatólagosan benne van; a "measuring device" megoldást nem javasolnám, mert nem hangzik természetesen. A "device" helyett szóba jön még a "probe" szó, vagy "scanning probe", hiszen a mérés szinte bizonyosan letapogatással történik - de minden bizonnyal a "microscope" is simán megállja a helyét.

To digitally capture the image of a block face, the RSC system uses a 2029 x 2044-pixel MegaPlus: 4.2i CCD camera from Redlake MASD (San Diego, CA) with 200-mm-focal-length lenses from Nikon (Melville, NY). It is coupled to a computer-controlled surface-imaging microscope.
