Acts of God # vis major, az utóbbi a tágabb fogalom.
(Pl. a sztrájk ugyanis nem Isten műve. :-)

Mivel nem tudom, hogy a kérdező megjegyzésére hogyan tudok válaszolni, ezt a módszert választottam. Nem vis major-ról van szó, mert az angol nyelvű házbiztosításunkban így szerepel: ...damages caused by third part, acts of God (e.g. floods, lightning, earthquake, hurricans etc.) inlcuded, however damages to the property caused by owner-inflicted destruction, strikes, riots, wars, and foreign occupation forces are excluded...

Kedves Péter, szerintem ne kételkedj, mert az alább általad írt vélemény a jogban nem állná meg a helyét. Az igaz, hogy a force majeure fogalmába sok minden belefér, de az nem felel meg a valóságnak, hogy az act of god ugyanaz. A kettő két külön fogalom.
A természeti kár természeti csapás vagy elemi csapás következtében elszenvedett kár, amint János szerintem helyesen rámutatott. Ez angolul az Act of God vagy force of nature, de a vis major - angolul force majeure - más. Jó példázat itt:
