Asker: I actually knew that this meant waypoint, but I didn't see how it made sense in the context, so I thought there might be other meanings, which is often the case with abbreviations. Still I now think that it may be right, because the unit works with maps, and so what he is saying is, "If I can't do reserach, just send me the map work at home because I won't be coming in any more."

Yet again Mary, you make helping you very hard! We need the Hebrew sentence - especially when you expressly say that you do not understand the context...

If I understand the sentence then this is a kind of ultimatum: "if you don't let me have my way show me the way home" on the other hand maybe it should have been מ.צ and not נ.צ especially if the Hebrew reads תשלחו לי הביתה... which is a bolder threat, send the m.p. to pick me up from home.

It seems to me that it may very well be a typo נ.צ. for מ.צ. they're one key apart and מ.צ. is military police.
That is unless נ.צ. makes sense in the sentence because of the broader context of exactly what that military guy's job was etc.

One point in favor of נ.צ. is that military police is usually written מ"צ

But given this narrow context מ"צ makes so much more sense...

Asker: Oded, thanks for your help. It was and is clear to me that the sentence if a kind of ultimatum, but it is not clear to me whether נ.צ stands for waypoint here, something else, or is a typo. Here's the Hebrew -- "אם אין ביכולתי להוציא יותר עבודות מחקר - תשלחו נ.צ. אלי הביתה" For now I've written "If I cannot do any more research, send me a waypoint at home.” I could easily avoid the problem and just say "If I cannot do any more research, I'm going home" but I'd like to know what the נ.צ is doing here. I hope seeing the Hebrew makes it easier!

Asker: Yes, as I tried to say earlier in my response to Yael, waypoint makes sense in the broader context, because this is a special unit that does photgraphic interpretation and prepares target maps as aids for reconnaisance sorties.
