Hebrew term or phrase:

refine (a date)
Explanation:
nm. improvement, refinement, perfection, elaborateness; perfecting

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thx DF. I initially posted the question in the wrong pair (Hebrew to Middle English), and couldn't figure out where it had disappeared to or why I wasn't getting answers. Meanwhile the translation is long over.

Anyway, it was definitely שכלול and as you said, relates to the date, not the debt. I used the term "mature":
(Babylon: [of a bill] due for payment;
(of an insurance policy, security, etc.) reach the end of its term and hence become payable).

So, I will close the question, with points for assistance to you. I'll add "mature" to the glossary next to your suggestion. Shabat Shalom :)
