1. Η παρούσα οδηγία εφαρμόζεται:

- στα πλοία των οποίων η χωρητικότητα νεκρού φορτίου φθάνει ή υπερβαίνει τους 15 τόνους ή, αν πρόκειται για πλοία που δεν προορίζονται για μεταφορά εμπορευμάτων, των οποίων το εκτόπισμα φθάνει ή υπερβαίνει τα 15 m3,

-στα ρυμουλκά και ωστικά ρυμουλκά, ακόμη και αν το εκτόπισμά τους δεν φθάνει τα 15 m3 αν είναι κατασκευασμένα για να ρυμουλκούν, να ωθούν ή να ρυμουλκούν με πλαγιοδέτηση πλοία.

1. This Directive shall apply to: - vessels having a total dead weight of 15 tonnes or more, or vessels not intended for the carriage of goods having a displacement of 15 cubic metres or more,

- tugs and pusher craft, including those with a displacement of less than 15 cubic metres, provided that they have been built to tow or push or to move vessels alongside.
