Τέλος ο όρος υδροφορία περιγράφει ποσοτικά την ιδιότητα κάτι να φέρει νερό· έτσι μπορούμε να έχουμε σε ένα υδρολογικό έτος υψηλή υδροφορία και σε ένα άλλο χαμηλή (ανάλογα αν υπήρχε πολύ ή λίγο νερό).
