Explanation:
"Financial consultants" help clients to sort out their financial needs, and advise them of suitable financial products and services. The products available include: pensions; mortgages; investments; house and life insurance; critical illness cover; income protection and savings plans. Clients can be corporate or individual.

"Financial advisers" can act as tied or independent agents. Tied agents offer the products of one company whereas independents need to offer whole-of-market advice. New rules state that financial advisers can now offer both types of advice as long as they clearly inform the client of which role they are in.

"Financial officer" is almost exclusively used for the CFO - chief financial officer.

Αυτά κι ελπίζω να μη σε μπέρδεψα περισσότερο!

PS. There's also the "financial coach", but I think at this point it is just an american invention, so I doubt any Greek company would have one.

neutral  Irene (Renata) Liapis: Hi - don't mean to confuse this issue further, but depending on the type of company/organization "financial officers" that are not CFOs are not that uncommon- in this case, it might fit the bill since the person in question is an employee as Sassa says

-> Hi Renata! I've been employed as a financial adviser and financial coach, never quite met a "financial officer" as such, but I don't doubt your experience with the subject, it might very well be the case. Thanks for the feedback.

The term \"financial officer\" is used quite a lot in UN Agencies and I\'ve seen it used (albeit sporadically) in some private sector companies as well. While I agree it\'s not the most common of terms, it does solve the problem of not confusing this person with an independently employed person - which could happen with both consultant and advisor (although those terms are quite legitimate)
