Tengo una duda sobre cómo traducir la siguiente frase, extraída de un cuento infantil de Richard von Volkmann (Der Wunschring):

"Darauf hob sich der Adler hoch in die Luft, schwebte lange noch in großen Kreisen über dem Haupte des Bauern und schoß dann wie ein Pfeil nach Morgen."

Mi duda consiste en cómo traducir "nach Morgen". "Hacia el mañana" o "hacia el futuro" me resulta algo raro, a pesar de que se trata de un águila que habla con el labrador y le regala un anillo mágico. He pensado que "Morgen" podría referirse en este caso al punto cardinal "Este", es decir, que fuera una manera de expresar la dirección por la que sale el sol, pero no he encontrado ninguna referencia que lo corrobore. De ahí me pregunta: ¿alguien sabe si "Morgen" se utiliza también en este sentido?

Duden no lo recoge con esta acepción, pero parece que en alemán antiguo sí existía.

Introduciendo en google 'Richtung "nach morgen"' se encuentran resultados.
