Wydaje mi się, że chodzi tutaj o z ang. Interchange czyli Verbindungsglas oder eben Uebergabegleis. Tak jak np, w ponizszym tekście:

"...Die meisten von ihnen haben nur ein kleines Netz und daher eine oder mehrere Verbindungen zu einer anderen Bahngesellschaft. Diese Verbindungen werden "Interchange" (deutsch: Übergabegleis oder Verbindungsgleis) genannt und bestehen aus einem oder mehreren Gleisen, die von beiden Bahngesellschaften bedient werden können...."
