Nella descrizione del sistema di trasmissione del canale della ORF ho questa frase:

"Darüber hinaus betreibt der OFR je nach Bewerb bis zu 7 Aussenstellen mit abgesetzten Ü-technikeinheiten, welche über ein sehr aufwendiges und kompliziertes Netzwerk mittels Glasfaser-Richtfunk- und Satellitenstrecken miteinander vernetzt werden."

Explanation:
Ü-Technik è un'abbreviazione di Übertragungstechnik, che comprende tutti i sistemi di trasmissione radiotelevisiva. In italiano, secondo me, si può rendere semplicemente con trasmissione. Molto comune è la parola Ü-Wagen (Übertragungswagen), che significa stazione mobile (di trasmissione).
In gergo è molto diffusa l'espressione inglese "outside broadcasting (ob)", riferita alle stazioni mobili, ma credo che "unità di outside broadcasting" risulterebbe incomprensibile o quanto meno un po' ostico al lettore medio italiano.
