perchè semplicemente fonti sarebbe troppo generico (quando lo si usa poi si suddividono per gruppi)

io l'avevo usato anche nella bibliografia della mia tesi
e la terminologia di bibliografia l'avevo presa da testi autorevoli (tra cui uno anche di U. Eco)

Nel settore del turismo di solito si rimanda a una "galleria di immagini" o "galleria fotografica".
Puoi usare uno di questi due termine se dal testo di capisce che le foto sono più di una.
Altrimenti foto va bene sia per il singolare che per il plurale.
