Beim Schattenwurf von Windenergieanlagen handelt es sich um den von Rotor und Turm erzeugten Schattenwurf, der während direktem Sonnenschein auftritt. Insbesondere der Schattenwurf des Rotors tritt für viele Menschen unangenehm in Erscheinung, da dieser im Gegensatz zu unbewegten Gegenständen periodische Helligkeitsschwankungen am Immissionsort hervorruft. Der Schatten einer stehenden Windenergieanlage ist hingegen nicht anders zu bewerten als der Schatten eines normalen Gebäudes. Das Auftreten des Schattenwurfes hängt von der Lage und Höhe der Anlage, der Lage des Immissionspunktes und vom Wetter ab.

Ho visto che talvolta viene tradotto con "ombra intermittente", "sfarfallio dell'ombra" e cose simili, ma il termine inglese mi sembra ampiamente utilizzato anche nei testi italiani relativi ad impianti eolici.
Del resto questo fenomeno è effettivamente irritante e secondo me non può essere reso con ombra semplicemente, in quanto non si tratta di un'ombra "statica", per lo più praticamente in assenza di rumore.
