"tutela" non mi sembra molto appropriato in questo caso poiché si tratta in effetti di una vera e propria "protezione" al fine di evitare danni irreparabili in caso di incidente.

Sì, non avendo il contesto ho interpretato male il termine. Essendo piastrelle con trattamento antisdrucciolo, significa sicuramente che questo trattamento funge da tutela/protezione contro gli scivolamenti.
