Die erste Phase der kontrastiven Sprachforschung, die weiter oben bereits beschrieben wurde, ist gekennzeichnet durch den Mangel an Fachliteratur, woraus auch größtenteils das Fehlen eines allgemeinen Forschungsverfahrens auf einer relativ einheitlichen theoretischen Basis resultiert. Die Aufgabenstellung der damals verfaßten Arbeiten spiegelt diesen Sachverhalt nicht nur in der Ausführung, sondern bereits in der Titelgebung wider, es heißt nämlich im zweiten Teil der Aufgabenstellung immer bescheiden: “... und ihre Entsprechungen im Rumänischen”. Dieser Ansatzperiode der kontrastiven Linguistik in Temeswar fehlte es zunächst an einer Tradition in der Forschung, und zwar nicht nur in der Germanistik, sondern fast in allen Fremdsprachen, die an der Fakultät unterrichtet wurden.
