1) il pourrait s'agir toujours de la capacité de pratiquer ces fameux évidements, cela signifierait donc "épaisseur usinable" (il faudrait trouver mieux)

2) à moins qu'il s'agisse d'une question d'usure, mais ça me semble moins probable
