What exactly do the mean by 'Labeling'? Can I say '... are positioned as premium brands', or would that be totally wrong?

would be my thought. Looks as if this is a new venture into the upper end of that market, and that's what they are aiming for: to be recognised as a premium brand.

I think this is what is meant by 'Labeling', especially after Google search...see link.
