agree  Trudy Peters: maybe facing instead of lining / I think of lining as sth. that covers the entire inside of a garment, whereas a facing could be a contrasting piece of fabric on the inside of the collar or a shirt cuff.

  -> Thanks, Trudy. A picture would be great :-)![ ]Though I might be wrong , I seem to have seen lining used for this as well; maybe they are interchangeable. Looking at the question, I believe trim covers both - on the collar and inside cuff.
