Durch eine Modizifizierung der Faserfeinheit und des Faserprofils lässt sich die effektive Faseroberfläche und damit der flüssige Schweißtransport maximieren. Eine stufenweise Veränderung der Faser- und Garnfeinheit von der Textilinnenfläche zur Außenfläche verbessern das Feuchtemanagement zusätzlich, da durch die daraus resultierende **Kapillarverengung** (Denier-gradient) die Feuchtigkeit besonders effektiv von der Haut weggeleitet werden kann.

Following on from my previous question, this is all about improving wear comfort of sportswear. I understand the meaning of "Kapillarverengung", but all the bilingual sites I've found which mention the term are medical, so I just want confirmation that I'm using a term which works in a textiles context.
I was thinking of going for "narrowing of the capillary structure", as the textile links I've found relating to "denier gradient" talk about "capillary action" and "capillary structure", rather than "constriction", which seems to be more of a medical term.

I think what the German specifically refers to as 'capillary narrowing' is actually 'capillary action' in English, i.e. the water being drawn up into the narrow capillaries:
