eng:: stomacher, frz: pice d'estomac
Ein mit Fischbein verstärktes, steifes Stück Stoff von länglich dreieckiger Form, das unter die vordere Öffnung der Robe geschoben (oder gesteckt) wurde, um das Korsett zu verdecken. Der Stecker war oft reich mit Stickerei, Spitze (beides auch aus Metallfäden), Rüschen oder Schleifen verziert. An den Seiten waren oft 4-6 Laschen aus einfachem Stoff angebracht, durch die man den Stecker zusätzlich mit Nadeln befestigen konnte. (Durch den steifen Stecker hätte man keine Nadeln schieben können.)
Wenn das Korsett selbst dekorativ war, konnte man den Stecker auch weglassen, aber dann hätte das Korsett farblich zum Kleid passen müssen, was sich nicht jede leisten konnte.
