German term or phrase: alter Neubestand
This is from a contract for the sale and purchase of a property, from a margin note by the prospective buyer regarding the purchaser's obligation to have the property examined by an expert for soil contamination etc. The original context is as follows (typos as written; I assume that no such word as "NAUBESTAND" exists but lasse mich gerne eines Besseren belehren...):

"Befindest sich alter Naubestand auf dem Gelände? Ist mit alten Fundamenten zu rechnen?"

Google has 35 hits for alter Neubestand, but none of them in a real estate context. They are mostly from online sellers on amazon, Ebay and the like, as descriptives for what we would call "mint condition antiques" or something similar in AE. For buildings though I'm at a loss, my current stab at it is:

"Are there older buildings of recent providence on the property?"

Murks. Anyone have any helpful suggestions? Thanks as always in advance...

old/existing stock

Explanation:
... is commonly used in real estate but "existing buildings" would fit perfectly, too.

Please make sure to enter the correct spelling in the glossary :-)

neutral  philgoddard: "Stock" on its own could mean lots of things - it wouldn't be clear.

-> In real estate language, "stock" does refer to buildings/portfolios etc.
