not likely to miraculously gain perspective Explanation: "....she is not likely to miraculously gain perspective on her self-centered desires during one of her hysteric episodes." Or "cannot be expected to..." I decided to use miraculously instead of "suddenly" because it sounds more vivid that way. The whole clause is a just a working translation to show how my solution might fit into the larger segment. That means, I don't necessarily feel responsible for rendering "Ich-Wünsche" with great accuracy. Everything else is fair game, I guess.. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 19 hrs (2013-05-02 11:13:19 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Thanks, Susan, for your response. But isn't that the very point I was making? In other words, it would be a miracle if she were able to gain perspective on anything during one of her bouts? |

cannot/is incapable of suddenly distance herself from her ego Explanation: The whole sentence somewhat altered from the the above suggestion: She had already manifested pronounced hysterical symptoms previously and with a personality thus inclined, she cannot distance herself suddenly from her ego whilst in an extatic condition. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day4 hrs (2013-05-02 20:10:52 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Sorry for taking so long to enter my proposal, I had a day of emergencies ... Anyway, glad I could help. |
