This is from a report researching heredity of personality disorders.

Zu der Frage, ob Kinder, deren Eltern unter einer PD leiden, ein erhöhtes Risiko aufweisen, ebenfalls an einer PD zu erkranken, ist wenig bekannt. Untersuchungen zur Familiarität finden sich unserem Wissen nach nur zur BPS. Es liegen keine Studien unter Berücksichtigung der DSM-IV-Kriterien vor. Die Tabelle 1 gibt eine Übersicht über Studien im Zeitraum von 1982 – 2006.

my guess is bipolar disorder, but I'm not sure and don't want to just guess (bipolare affektive Stoerung also doesn't exactly match the abbreviation)
