Aim high, fail big
Explanation:
This is from a book/movie called "Verschwende Deine Jugend" (English title: "Play it Loud"). I haven't read or seen it, but the phrase seems to mean something like: "Set big goals and get knocked down hard."

I've been trying to think of a good way to express that in English, while still keeping the poetic nature of the original, but haven't been able to come up with anything good. Hope I helped a little.

neutral  Cilian O'Tuama: Where do you get the "get knocked down hard"? W/o any context or familiarity with the book, I'd guess sth. like: Keep your eye on the big picture, and try to make life particularly difficult for the big guy/best opponent/favourite. Just guessing though.
