peace at any price Explanation: "Peace at any price" is the common English expression which keeps the similarly negative undertone. "Harmoniesucht" in German is implicitly negative, so my first reaction was to go along with Anne-Marie Grant -"harmony at any price" but "harmony at any price" only has a few hundred hits in google- the much more usual expression is "peace at any price" and I think the nearest to "Harmoniesucht". Here are some examples of the use of "Harmoniesucht" showing its negative overtones: Nein, Harmoniesucht kann man den alten Freizeitautoren wirklich nicht vorwerfen.( Quelle: Frankfurter Rundschau 1992 ) Autoritätshörigkeit, Hierarchiedenken und Harmoniesucht der Ostdeutschen seien ein Nährboden für Neonazis.( Quelle: Junge Welt 2000 ) Die schweren, verzerrten Sounds des Hard-Rocks wurden von peinlichen Texten befreit, der Punk von der Sicherheitsnadel und der Folk von der Harmoniesucht.( Quelle: Welt 1996 ) Die in der Politik vorherrschende Harmoniesucht hatte bewirkt, dass nicht über konfliktgeladene Themen, wie die zunehmende Straßenkriminalität oder die oft fehlschlagende Integration von Ausländern, geredet wurde.( Quelle: Die Welt Online vom 03.09.2004 ) Aber in den zwei Jahren hat Cordelia Wege gelernt, dass allzu viel Harmoniesucht in einer Kampfzone wie der Volksbühne auch den Weg zur Hölle bereiten kann.( Quelle: DIE WELT 2001 ) Die Geister freilich scheiden sich nicht erst an der typisch sächsischen Harmoniesucht.( Quelle: Tagesspieg |
