claims Explanation: Schutzansprüche are simply claims in a patent document. In a legal document about the patent, they may be "claims for which protection is sought". If you submit the second term as a second question, I will submit an answer for that one as well. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 40 mins (2010-06-11 13:56:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- @Elizabeth: Claims are, in a patent document, by definition the statements in a patent for which protection is sought. Adding 'patent' or 'protection' is extraneous and not concise, and as conciseness of phrasing is a requirment for patents, extraneous wording should be avoided like the plague. Abfassung der Schutzansrpüche would be the legaly specified formulation of the claims, which causes difficulty for inexperienced applicants. |
