German to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / Product Labelling
German term or phrase: vermerken
"Gegebenenfalls werden weiter rechtlich vorgeschriebene Hinweise, speziell Warnhinweise, in den erforderlichen Landessprachen vermerkt."

This has to do with labelling the packaging of a dental product.

I'm not quite sure about the best way to translate "vermerkt" in this context. I don't really like "noted". My understanding is that warnings in different languages may be added to the packaging. So "noted" doesn't really seem right at all. "Recorded" is another dictionary suggestion that I'm not 100% happy with, though like better than "noted". "Annotated" - hmm, not really too shook on that either.

So, what WOULD be the best term to use here for "vermerkt"? TIA for your help.

Explanation:
Hinweise vermerkt can be put together in English, they don't have to be separate - doppelt gemoppelt

Points to Nancy for getting in first with the answer and an interesting explanation, but I would also like to thank Daniela for her own very helpful answer. It helped me somewhat with the rest of the sentence, which I was having trouble wording with sufficient elegance. I would definitely split the points if I could! Thank you Heart for your contribution also.

Explanation:
Can you say something like,
"When necessary, the packages shall be labelled with legally required warnings in the appropriate languages."

I don't think you can state the idea properly in English without bringing the word label or packaging into play.

warnings shall be included on the package label
the packages shall be labelled with the appropriate warnings
warnings shall appear on the packages

etc.

Explanation:
In this context, 'stated' sounds like a good match. I can't back this up with any proof because as you note, all the usual definitions for 'vermerkt' are not quite right.
