...für die Bestätigung... confirming or confirmation Explanation: I must disagree with your opinion that "confrimation" doesn't work here. As used here "confirmation" is close in meaning to "ratification." To confirm something is to ratify what has been done without authority or insufficiently. In this case the mere contract of adoption is not sufficient to perfect the adoption. The contract must be first be confirmed or ratified by the court before it has legal validity, i.e., is perfected. |

...für die Bestätigung... for the approval Explanation: Bestaetingung der Tatsahe, das der Vertrag "is in the best interests" des Kindes. The court gets actively involved and reviews the adoption contract, and then consents to it or approves it as being in the child's best interests. I don't think it is just It is not "rubber-stamping" the adoption by authenticating it or the contract. It is, yes, effectively "authorizing" that the adoption go through, but it is not authorizing the contract itself. And "confirming the contract" is a phrase one applies usually in commercial settings to one of the parties making its final commitment to it. As link below indicates: Bestaetigung is in this case synonymous with Bewilligung. Reference: http://www.castelligasse.at/Politik/Familie/familie.htm |
