official representatives/representative associations
Explanation:
The point is, groups in Austria such as the Bauernbund, Industrielle Vereinigung, Wirtschaftskammer and the Arbeiterkammer are not spontaneous, grassroots lobbying groups, but rather longstanding, traditional and highly organized entities with for the most part compulsory membership (e.g. as a self-employed translator I must be a member of the Wirtschaftskammer and pay memberships fees, regardless of whether I benefit from their services).
On the other hand, their officials have seats in parliament, are often cabinet ministers and traditionally have a say in legislation. So you see, this system is a far cry from Anglo-American ideals of the libertarian, civil society -- you are represented, like it or not.
Hence "official" representatives.

In America, the title "pressure group" has all-but been replaced with the title "interest group". Therefore, an organisation such as Greenpeace would lobby for the interests of environmental issues; the pro/anti gun groups would lobby for the interests of those concerned with either side of the gun issue. The word "interest" is seen as being less forceful than the word "pressure" which could hint at vaguely undemocratic tendencies and processes as a pressure group goes about the work it does to support its beliefs - especially if they represent a minority of people within a community.
