Satz Explanation: I would say "against the backdrop" and not "within the backdrop". My own version would be: According to the French Minister of Education and Research, since the GNP will increase by 2.5%, this means that the proportion of research expenditure will also increase, thanks to additional public funding encouraged by the 2005 GNP figure. |
