parsing it Explanation: Das neue Erkenntnis steht im Widerspruch zu drei Dingern: einem Erkenntnis, einer Auffassung und einer Praxis. Is there a further issue? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr 3 mins (2004-06-01 20:16:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Given that it is \"Grundsätzen\" in the dative, I think that these \"principles\" would be the fourth in the series of things that the new finding contradicts. |

Suggestion as to splitting the sentence Explanation: You could put a full stop after the 1958 bit. Then continue with "It is also" (e.g. It is also in contradiction with......) Then another full stop before the second "ferner", continuing with.... What is more, it contradicts....... Does Grundsätzen comes straight after "des Bundesministers" or is there something in between?????? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2004-06-01 21:02:07 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Have read the note - in that case you could put a full stop after Bundesminister, starting the last sentence (number four) with Finally it contradicts..., so we have 1) 1958 full stop 2) sentence with also 3) building up - with \"what is more\" 4) last sentence starting with finally, giving a bit of a dramatic finish. |

The new decision etc. Explanation: The new decision directly contradicts the decision of xxx in Karlsruhe, dated xxx, and it also contradicts the interpretation (construction) that until recently was supported by XX, and it also contradicts the practice always followed until recently by German administrative officials,, in particular, and it also contradicts in particular the Rundschreiben des Bundesministers.... This should give you a very good idea of how to proceed. Good luck. |
