It means Explanation: that 40% of the EU's entire gross domestic product comes from (is produced by) the area in the 300-km radius around Cologne! That's a lot of factories ;-) Not Germany's share in the GDP! |

EU Explanation: One is now considering Europe as a "Land", just as USA (many states making one "Land"). It's far to modern for me, but that's the thinking of the young! My geriatric brain. |
