Beginning of second paragraph ("Our aim is to develop a dialogue between young people of 16 and 28 years of age and leading figures from the world of politics, the economy and culture.") is similar to my first link:
"Europe is more than an institution, an economic and currency union. Europe is a cultural and legal sphere with a definition that shifts depending on who defines it and when, and who is presenting visions of the continent’s future."

Although "more than meets the eye" seems to be a good match for the foundation's mission statement.

Trouble is (I hope this isn't true for your document) that from what I've observed, Germans often use "Europe" and "the EU" interchangeably nowadays. Guess it's because there are so few non-EU countries left (except in south-east Europe).

There's this interesting opinion piece entitled "Europe is more than the EU," albeit it was written by a German:

the context doesn't specifically refer to the future, although development and prospects are both terms implying a forward motion. As I said before, the header must encompass both width and breadth - when only implied.

I think you have a similar rule in English:

If a word could be mistaken to mean something else, you need to separate parts of it by space or dash. A good example:

recover vs. re-cover

weiterdenken vs. weiter denken

We just had it about context the other day. Maybe it's because I'm still trying to recover from a severe migraine, but I'm not certain about one thing: You added the explanation of "Programme und geografische Aktivitäten und Reichweite," etc. and nowhere does it say anything about future activities in there; it is only implied in Perspektiven = outlook/prospects.

In my view, any answer directly referring to "weiterdenken" in one word is based on the mistaken belief that both words mean the same.

Only my opinion, of course:
A) I found Paul's second suggestion interesting, although "better" is a value judgment I'd avoid. Something with "a more inclusive Europe" maybe?

B) Agree with Michael that "beyond Europe" doesn't work well. It's still all about Europe. Brigitte's "beyond the EU" is more to the point.

C) Find Armorel's second suggestion interesting; can't see how "progressive" would fit the bill, though.

Yes, I've also found it written both ways, and never considered it a typo. I'm more concerned with how to best capture this width and breadth in one header. there are some excellent suggestions here, don't you think? With which one(s) would you agree?

I think Eckhard has already explained it quite well. I'd just make a few ENS adjustments here - you should see it as "Think of Europe in a broader context/in a wider sense."

To Paul Cohen: It is a play on words! While "weiterdenken" would be "think ahead OR further", here this "Europa weiter denken" means "Think Europe (or the EU) bigger, wider, broader" - or "Think beyond the usual borders or limits of Europe (or the EU)".
