"Die Drittelfinanzierung ist ein bewährtes Grundprinzip der Städtebauförderung" - from a document on the "Stadtumbau Ost" project. I understand the concept - urban development aid is financed equally by the federal government, the Länder and the municipalities (each contributing one third of the costs) - but have found no official translation and cannot think of a nice, succinct solution. So far I have "three-way division of funding costs". Any suggestions much appreciated!

Sorry, I read "Drittmittelfinanzierung" instead of "Drittelfinanzierung". So the answer is of course incorrect. I better quit for today :-)
