Perhaps a Biblical reference?
Thanks in advance

invisible hand (of God)
Explanation:
You might want to retain "invisible hand" due to its associations with Adam Smith, who is said to have had biblical metaphors in mind when coining the phrase:

The starting point of the paper is that the ‘invisible hand’ concept in Smith is an unambiguously theological category.

Yes, "socialize" (vergesellschaften).
And I'd turn around "institutionenbildende Kraft", i.e. the power of xx to form associations and institutions o.ä.

And for a very visible but equally non-divine "hand of God":

Notes to answerer
Asker: Cheers, also found a Wicki reference to Adam Smith

Asker: what do you make of "vergesellschaftet" here? I've found several definitions, but none seem to fit here - "socialize"?

-> And he is the "new face" not of L'Oreal or Channel but the UK 20-pound note. I didn't vote for him ;-(

agree  BirgitBerlin: Same here... good old Adam Smith. ;-) // I think I did a whole term on A.S. at uni, at least it felt like it!

agree  Meturgan: Adam Smith is most often recognized for the expression "the invisible hand," which he used to demonstrate how self-interest guides the most efficient use of resources in a nation's economy, with public welfare coming as a by-product.

agree  Rebecca Garber: invisible hand is Adam Smith and immediately recognizable to most readers. The 'Hand og God' is, art historically anyway, almost always visible. Inscrutable, but visible.
