German term or phrase: "Buddy wirbt Buddy" (Madoff slogan/motto)
Dear colleagues,

I am translating some scripts for university lectures, and one of them is about B. Madoff's snowball system. The script says Madoff had a marketing slogan which read "Buddy wirbt Buddy" . What was it in English? I just can't find it on Google.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

"Buddy recruits/attracts/wins/draws in Buddy"
Explanation:
Buddy does not need translating - the question is, what are you going to use, resp. do you want to use, for wirbt? If you want to be really nasty, "Buddy cons buddy" - but Buddy doesn`t know it!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I am aware that "wirbt" ist the challenge here, that is why I posted the question in the first place. However, why go looking for translations if the slogan actually existed? After all, this happened in the U.S.; so I suppose there must be an original English version - and that is what I am looking for.

neutral  writeaway: only research help is sought apparently. not original ideas. thanks but no thanks

neutral  philgoddard: I'm with writeaway - this is not a translation query. And it sounds rather odd for a marketing slogan - more like his modus operandi, I'd have thought.
