neutral  David Moore (X): I think the "storm" bit is saying too much...//Just call them drains...the asker is UK-based! For us, storm drains are not your usual run-of-the-mill drains, whatever Wiki might say.

The Schacht is the concrete chamber providing access to the junction of the drains. Often incorrectly called a manhole. In UK they may be be constructed of brick or plastic.
