It not the only time this has happened. It's just such a rotten feeling when I look at the finished product and see how it's been mangled or terms I was required to use knowing that they weren't correct. Thanks for your input.

Hi Alan. No I wasn't give an explanation; I don't normally, even when I ask. It's one of the disadvantages of being an in-houser I guess. So from now on I have to translat Erweiterungsmodul as Option module whether I like it or not.

This is evidently one of those clever dicks who can speak (and write) better English than the ENS to whom they entrust translations - I know, we've all had 'em. Even at the cost of appearing to contradict myself, I would not use the above expression in this context - it sounds less natural than "optional"... (whatever). It might well be used as a list heading in a catalogue, or elsewhere if space is at a premium, but I don't think that applies here.

I actually translated the term as "expansion module" but I was told I had to use option module and expansion module "darf nicht mehr vorkommen". I thought if I had to use an inaccurate translation (IMO), I needed to find some justification for it so I could sleep better.

Why do you want to use "option module" instead of "extension module"?
