German term or phrase: Ablagenbuchhaltung
One of many corporate departments - this in a listing of departments and what kind of software they use. This department uses FAM, which I take it to be File Access Manager (see http://www.vwsolutions.com/productInformation.aspx?productId...

This is some kind of filing/archiving dept., but the Buchhaltung confuses me a little. Is there a special term for this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions... and this is semi-urgent.

filing department
Explanation:
could it not simply be the filing dept. (as you suggested)? I think that the "Buchhaltung" here is not necessary.
