Unter Aushebesteifigkeit wird in diesem Zusammenhang Folgendes verstanden. Sofern sich die Haube in der Schließstellung befindet, kann durch Windsog eine Kraftausübung auf die Scharniergelenke erfolgen, die dazu führen, dass die Haube sich an ihrem der Windschutzscheibe zugewandten Ende anhebt. Dies ist nur im geringen Maße zulässig, also nur im Bereich weniger Millimeter.

Bei den üblichen kleinbauenden Scharnieren dieser Art wird eine ausreichende Aushebesteifigkeit nicht immer erreicht, da sich herausgestellt hat, dass beim Einbau solcher Scharniere sich die Haube in ihrem der Windschutzscheibe benachbarten Bereich weit über das zulässige Maß anheben kann, sofern entsprechende Windsogkräfte auf die Haube beim Fahren des Fahrzeuges einwirken, weil das Scharnier sich zumindest etwas öffnet.
