German term or phrase: Autohof
This appears in the context of regulations for flammable liquids and stipulates that these substances may not be stored in certain locations including:

Abstellplätze an Raststätten, Autohöfe

Parking areas in service stations and ???

I've never come across Autohof before and can't find anything specific on Google. Does anyone know what this is?

Many thanks!

Truck stop
Explanation:
is that is a word used in English? If I remember correctly, an Autohof is a large resting area catering especially for transport trucks just off the German Autobahn.

Thanks Henrik - and also to Cilian for the useful reference. The definition was an exact description of a truck stop near the junction of the M6 where I used to live in Cheshire.

agree  Frosty: Quite correct - even with a car I much prefer to take a break at these than at an autobahn service area.

truck stop or rest area

Explanation:
"off-highway rest area for trucks" Silmilar to a Raststätte but for mostly used for trucks.
Sometimes they have a restaurant and also a small hotel.

service station(s)

Explanation:
As far as I know, the "Autohof" only differs from the "Raststätte" inasmuch that the Autohof has no facilities except for truckers, where the Raststätte usually has a motel.
I guess you may have to wait for confirmation from someone on the trucks, but it certainly is not a car dealer in your context, although it may be elsewhere.
