local profit margins Explanation: Another option to consider. Not to overemphasize the importance of Google, but a search for "low profit margins" produces 136,000 hits vs. only 3 hits for "low profit contributions." ;-( If the meaning is roughly the same, I'd go with "local profit margins." Schäfer provides these translations of "Deckungsbeitrag": - contribution margin - profit contribution (as Textklick pointed out) but also: - variable gross margin (or profit) - marginal balance - marginal income - direct product profit In any case, those farmers certainly have to eke out a meagre living in the mountains! |
