helped my late husband many years in his agency and AE was always spelled out as Agenturertrag, which typically is 15 percent from the net cost of an ad, sometimes more.

doch AE ist eben Agenturertrag, d.h. Abzug von der Sicht des Verlegers und Ertrag von der Sicht der Agentur. Beide nennen es AE.
Rabattierung -- Mengenrabatt etc. heißt der discount und ist KEIN AE, denn er wird dem Kunden weitergegeben, also ein durchlaufender Posten aus Sicht der Agentur und ein Discount aus Sicht des Verlegers.

  -> nein, ich bin sogar im Prüfungskommitte der IHK für Werbekaufmann/frau, jetzt Kaufmann/frau für Marketing/Kommunikation, der Abzug vom Netto ist die commission. Es gibt auch einen discount, aber discount is für die geschaltete Menge.
