D'abord, pcq j'ai un sens inné de la contradiction.

Mais aussi pcq :

Il s'agit d'une expression ; "se porter candidat". Plusieurs personnes peuvent se porter candidat : elles se portent candidat. Comme être candidat : dix personnes sont candidat.

Il ya beaucoup d'exemples sur le web, mais autant d'un côté que de l'autre. J'ai l'impression que c'est ... au goût !

D'ailleurs, le Sénat Belge utilise les deux saveurs, DANS LE MÊME DOCUMENT :

Alors moi je choisi sans "S" pour la raison énoncée plus haut et pcq ça économise l'encre, donc moins de polution etc.

"se sont portés candidat" est une traduction responsable !
